FALL PRACTICE & TRAINING SCHEDULE
Cardinal provides a comprehensive fall training program. All girls will have the opportunity to grow through intensive skill, positional, and team development. Additionally Cardinal is proud to partner with Perfect Performance of Tysons Corner, a leader in athletic development, to offer dedicated age appropriate stick, speed and performance training.
Perfect Performance developed two programs and designed them to specifically complement Cardinal team practices and age appropriate skill development. Please see details below.
As a Cardinal youth team member (2021 – 2024) you will have the opportunity to develop through the following programs.
Youth Skills Training on Sundays (required) – Focus on fundamentals, positional play, offensive and defensive concepts.
Team practice on Tuesdays (required unless conflicts with fall sport)
Stick and Speed Training on Thursdays (strongly recommended) – see below
Performance Training the day of your choice (recommended) – see JV below
As a high school player (2018 – 2020) you will have the opportunity to develop through the following programs. Cardinal assumes high school players will participate in other fall high school sports so Cardinal will not practice mid-week.
Advanced skill development training and team practice on Sundays (required).
Performance Training the day of your choice (strongly recommended) – Varsity to be posted soon.

STICK AND SPEED (offered by Perfect Performance)
Stick & Speed is a 90-minute training session focused on developing the individual stick skills and speed/footwork/agility specific to female lacrosse athletes. For our 7th and 8th grade athletes the session is two 45-minute segments. For our 5th and 6th grade athletes the session is one 60 minute segment for stick skills and one 30 minute segment for speed, footwork and agility.
The lead coaches for the program are Jessica Griffin (lax skills) and Sean Doyle (performance). Jessica Griffin played midfield at the University of North Carolina from 2009-2013, winning a National Championship her senior year. She is an outstanding lacrosse coach that specializes in stick skills, offensive concepts and small-sided play. Sean Doyle is the Director of Sports Performance at PP where he leads the Speed, Strength and Conditioning program. He holds a Masters In Strength & Conditioning from Salisbury University where he was the strength & conditioning coach for men’s & women’s lacrosse teams.
