We look forward to seeing as many girls as possible at tryouts. Cardinal fields teams from 5th grade to rising seniors.
Tryout Times and Locations
All girls are welcome. Graduation years 2022 through 2026 will have one to two tryout days. We encourage girls to attend both days so Cardinal coaches can see all potential athletes. Please refer to your graduation year for time and location..If you know of girls that would like to tryout but cannot make these dates please let us know. We are always looking for talented and well-rounded girls to join Cardinal. We will try to make arrangements.
Tryouts will take place August 16 - 19.
Tryout Field Location
Oak Marr Park - 3200 Jermantown Rd., Oakton, VA 22124 (turf)
These tryouts are for the entire playing year, from September 2018 through July 2019. All Teams will participate in two seasons, Fall (September through November) and Summer (May through July). Additionally, 2026, 2025, 2024 and 2023 teams may participate in an optional Winter league in January and February 2016 and potentially a Spring league in April and May 2019. These are determined on a team by team basis and are not required.
There are typically 2-3 practices per week during the summer season and 1 - 2 practices per week in the fall season.
Tournaments and Games
Cardinal typically participates in 4 tournaments during the Summer season and 3 to 4 tournaments during the Fall season. These tournaments are hosted in and around the Midatlantic region. Weekly games during the optional Winter and Spring seasons for the ES/MS teams are on Saturday or Sundays and are typically played in Maryland and Virginia.

The cost for Cardinal lacrosse is approximately $2000 per year, payable in two installments. $1400 will be due in September for the Fall season and required pre-payment of summer tournaments, and $600 in December for the Summer season. Teams that participate in indoor winter leagues, spring league or the U15 National Championship will be assessed additional fees based on actual costs. In addition, the cost for a uniform will be $145 and the cost for a practice pinney will be $35.
Refund Policy: Once you have accept a position and registered for a team there are no refunds and you are responsible for the full year committment.
